International and local experts visited Research Institute of Crop Husbandry

International and local experts visited the Research Institute of Crop Husbandry within the framework of the "Protection and sustainable use of globally important agro-biological diversity (AgroBio)" project implemented with the support of the Global Ecology Fund, the Ministry of Agriculture and the United Nations Development Program. Sevinj Mammadova, deputy director for scientific affairs of the institute, Garib Novruzlu, deputy director for production, and Khanbala Rustamov, the leading scientific worker of the Plant Breeding Department, took part in the meeting between the parties. During the meeting, the guests were informed about the Institute's priorities in increasing agricultural production in the republic, potential opportunities and directions of action, plants and regionalized varieties included in the institute's mandate and their share in the republic's grain crops.

Francis Hurst, the international expert on agrobiodiversity, Farid Abbasov, the project leader, and other experts got acquainted with the institute's "Den quality" laboratory and the medium-term "Genbank". The experts were informed about the work done here. They exchanged views on mutual cooperation in the future.
