The director of Institute took part in international meeting

On 16-19 January, Javanshir Talai, the director of Institute took part at international meeting under "International Program on Improving winter wheat" in Haymana province of Ankara city of Turkey Republic. It was discussed about environmental results of the tests conducted with introductive winter wheat and facultative bread wheat seedling in 2015-2016 vegetation years; the involvement of selection to the chosen perspective line; divided into district varieties; the prospects for future development of cooperation; the work plan for the 2017 year, at meeting under IWWIP which was founded by Food, Agriculture and Livestock Ministry of Turkey Republic, CIMMYT and ICARDA. There were experts representing from 12 relevant research institutions of Ankara, Konya, Izmir, Eskisehir, Erzurum of Turkey Republic and other cities, also experts representing from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Iran and Afghanistan participated in the meeting. The participants of the meeting gave more information about the pathological activities, especially about the yellow, brown and stem rust; Analysis of the introductive germ plasma in the countries of the South Caucasus and Central Asia; researches and the obtained results in winter wheat selection; plant genetic resources; the strategic line of IWWIP under winter wheat selection; Javanshir Talai, made a presentation about the "The results of selection conducted in Azerbaijan under IWWIP in 2015-2016 vegetation years". He gave detailed information the structure of agricultural lands in the country; planting area of winter wheat and economic indicators for the last five years; problems in this area; germ plasma of grain-crops introduced by international centers in the last twenty years; goals and objectives of researches; divided into district varieties; on the results of environmental tests with various wheat seedlings purchased through IWWIP in 2015-2016 vegetation years, and answer questions. The works about the wheat selection were highly appreciated.J.M. As a result of the negotiations, decided that a young scientific employee of the Institute will attend at the training course about Phytopathology and all expenses will be carried out by the organizers which would be jointly organized by FAO and ICARDA in Izmir city of Turkey Republic, on April.
