The ECOserve regional program focuses on the protection and sustainable use of natural resources, one of the priority areas of the German Federal Government in the South Caucasus

Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan in partnership with various higher education institutions at the Institute of Agriculture ET on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) within the project "Management of natural resources and protection of ecosystem services for sustainable rural development in the South Caucasus" EKOserve, the German Society for International and Cooperation (GIZ) and the Research Institute of Crop Husbandry jointly organized an event on Advanced Agrarian Practices (GAP) for Trainers (TOT) on the EKOserve project. After the welcoming speech and presentation of the participants, the director of the Research Institute of Crop Husbandry Faig Khudayev, Sevinj Sarikhanova (GIZ-EKOserve project), Fariz Alakbarov (expert of EKOserve GIZ) spoke about the event and gave detailed information about the EKOserve project. It was noted that the areas covered by the program include environmental policy dialogue, education and training, awareness raising and the implementation of pilot projects. In Azerbaijan, the ECOserve program focuses on the introduction of sustainable agricultural land use systems. The program is implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
