The goal is to develop grain growing on a scientific basis

Azerbaijan is considered to be the homeland of wheat, especially durum wheat. This plant is currently cultivated in all economic regions of the country. Wheat, the main raw material for the food, confectionery, pasta and baking industries, covers about 1 million hectares of cropping land in the country. The development of the grain sector, which is of special importance, has always been in the focus of our state. In order to obtain high and quality products in this area, it is necessary to create new productive and high-quality, disease and pest resistant varieties that meet the needs of the time. In order to obtain high and quality products in this area, it is necessary to create new productive and high-quality, disease and pest resistant varieties that meet the needs of the time. At present, scientific research is being carried out in this direction at the Research Institute of Crop Husbandry of the Ministry of Agriculture.

The new varieties obtained as a result of research are being tested on farms in different regions.

It is recommended by our scientists to select and cultivate these varieties with high characteristics and features in a wider area. However, it is very important to provide proper agro-technical care to new varieties. Today, as the Research Institute of Crop Husbandry, the recommendations we will give to farmers operating in the Sheki region on the basis of future scientific guarantees will ensure a high and quality product.

Sheki region is a region of special importance in the field of grain growing. In this regard, the main goal is to achieve the development of grain growing in the region on a scientific basis. Taking this into account, two farmers operating in Sheki region (Afgan Vagif Asgarov  , resident of Shorsu village, Sheki region and Natig Mammad Mammadov, resident of Garatorpag village) with the joint participation of Sheki Support Station, Sheki DAIM, Sheki Regional Training Center cooperation agreements have been signed.
